The Los Angeles Dodgers hit Opening Day 2026 as massive favorites to accomplish a feat not seen in Major League Baseball in more than a quarter century.
The two-time defending world champions are attempting to become the first team to three-peat since the 1998-2000 New York Yankees. Ironically, it's the Yankees who will open the 2026 regular season at the San Francisco Giants in a game on Netflix on Wednesday night.
However, the Bronx Bombers are considered a distant second when it comes to World Series favorites in the eyes of oddsmakers.
The Dodgers are the +220 favorites at BetMGM to win the 2026 World Series. That's well ahead of the Yankees (+1000), New York Mets (+1200), Seattle Mariners (+1300) and Toronto Blue Jays (+1400).
At DraftKings, the Dodgers are +230 ahead of the Yankees (+1000), Mariners (+1200), Mets (+1300) and Blue Jays (+1500). Los Angeles' total wins line sits at 102.5, with the closest competitors being the Yankees and Mets at 90.5.
The Dodgers are also massive favorites to win the National League pennant at +120 at DraftKings. Their closest rivals are the Mets at +700, followed by the Philadelphia Phillies (+800) and Atlanta Braves and Chicago Cubs at +900.
Los Angeles is also the odds-on favorite at -650 to win the National League West. The San Diego Padres are a distant second at +900 followed by the San Francisco Giants (+1700), Arizona Diamondbacks (+2200) and Colorado Rockies (+30000).

SHOHEI SHINING FOR MVP?
With Shohei Ohtani healthy, the Dodgers' two-way superstar is the -145 favorite at BetMGM to win his third straight National League MVP award. That's well ahead of Mets slugger Juan Soto at +800 and the Braves' Ronald Acuna Jr. at +1100.
However, Ohtani's odds-on favorite status has drawn significant money to other NL stars. While Ohtani has been backed by the most money at 62.4%, Soto has drawn the most total bets at 11.2% and the Phillies' Bryce Harper is the book's biggest NL MVP liability, having been backed by 5.0% of the money at +3000 odds.
Reigning American League MVP Aaron Judge begins the season as the +200 favorite to repeat. Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. (+500) and Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh (+800) are the only other players with shorter odds than Seattle center fielder Julio Rodriguez at +1200.
Rodriguez is the book's biggest AL MVP liability, while Witt has been supported with the most total bets at 17.3%.
