Anthony Becht was named the head coach of the UFL's Orlando Storm on Tuesday.
Becht has spent the past three seasons at the helm for the St. Louis Battlehawks, compiling a 22-8 regular season record.
His success in the regular season didn't fully translate to the postseason, with losses in the conference championship games in 2024 and 2025.
Becht, 48, is relocating to a familiar area, having played tight end for the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2005-07.
'Today, I am filled with mixed emotions as I leave a city and team that I love -- the St. Louis Battlehawks -- to take on the exciting challenge of building a new team -- the Orlando Storm,' he said.
'I look forward to returning to my home state of the last 21 years, where I played three seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and welcome the task ahead in adding to the great tradition of football in the Sunshine State. I also want to thank Battlehawks Nation for all of their support. You will forever be in my heart.'
He caught 188 passes for 1,537 yards and 21 touchdowns in 167 NFL games over 11 seasons with the New York Jets (2000-04), Bucs, St. Louis Rams (2008), Arizona Cardinals (2009) and Kansas City Chiefs (2011).
The newly formed Storm kick off their first season on March 27.
