The Minnesota Twins are in agreement with veteran first baseman Josh Bell on a one-year contract with a mutual option for 2027, The Athletic reported Monday.
Financial terms of the deal were not available.
The well-traveled, 33-year-old slugger batted .237 with 22 home runs and 63 RBIs in 140 games with the Washington Nationals last season.
Bell is a career .256 hitter with 193 homers and 676 RBIs in 1,287 games with the Pittsburgh Pirates (2016-20), Nationals (2021-22, 2025), San Diego Padres (2022), Cleveland Guardians (2023), Miami Marlins (2023-24) and Arizona Diamondbacks (2024).
He made the National League All-Star team in 2019, finishing that season with career highs in homers (37) and RBIs (116) for the Pirates. He won a Silver Slugger award in 2022.
The Twins rotated between Ty France, Kody Clemens and Edouard Julien at first base in 2025, with Jonah Bride and Mickey Gasper also making at least five appearances there.
