The Browns opened the week black and blue as their primary backfield and edge rushers were among a host of Cleveland players who missed practice Wednesday with injuries.
Both Nick Chubb (calf) and backup Kareem Hunt (wrist, knee) missed practice, as did defensive ends Myles Garrett (knee, ankle) and Jadeveon Clowney (elbow, knee). Clowney did not play in Week 5.
Also missing Wednesday were center J.C. Tretter (knee) and right tackle Jack Conklin (knee), defensive end Takk McKinley (ankle, knee), tight end David Njoku (knee) and linebacker Malcolm Smith (abdomen).
Garrett (NFL-high seven sacks) missed two practices last week but played against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Chubb is second in the NFL in rushing with 523 yards while Hunt has 295, good for 16th in the league.
The Browns (3-2) are preparing to play the undefeated Arizona Cardinals on Sunday in Cleveland.
Returning to practice Wednesday were cornerbacks Denzel Ward and Greg Newsome II, and left tackle Jedrick Wills. Ward (neck) was injured last Sunday while Newsome has missed the past two games with a calf injury. Wills (ankle) also missed Sunday's game.
Wide receiver Jarvis Landry is eligible to return from injured reserve this week but did not practice.
